The proportion of Italy's homicides committed by minors rose to 11% in 2024, up from 4% the previous year, ANSA reported citing the interior ministry's Criminalpol department.

It added that the proportion of homicide victims aged under 18 was up too, rising to 7% from 4% in 2023.

The report said 319 homicides were registered in Italy last year.

This was 6% down on the 340 that took place in 2023 and 33% fewer than the 475 committed in 2025.

Mafia-linked crimes were down 72% from 53 in 2015 to 15 in 2024.
