Number of victims of terrorist attacks in Yemen rises to 56
Baku, September 20 (AZERTAC). Terrorist attacks in Yemen on Friday killed 56 soldiers and security officers, according to Al Jazeera.
Bombs exploded at several checkpoints and one military garrison in the south-eastern province of Shabwa.
Thus, in the attack on the garrison located near the administrative center of Shabwa - Ataq, 38 soldiers were killed. No information was reported on the number of people affected. It was also reported the theft of three military vehicles.
According to media reports, the terrorists had a shooting with the military guards, and then blew up a car bomb.
Another car blew up near En-Nusheyma military checkpoint, 10 soldiers of the Yemen army were killed.
In another area of this province of Yemen - Meyfaa - eight police officers were killed.
No terrorist group has claimed responsibility for the attacks yet. However, authorities believe that behind the attack stand militants of one of the Al-Qaeda divisions known as Al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula (AQAP). This arm of the group is based in the south and east of Yemen
