Over 200 US companies are successfully operating in Azerbaijan, says deputy minister

“The Charter on Strategic Partnership signed between the U.S. and Azerbaijan provides a long-term institutional foundation for expanding economic cooperation between the two countries” said Elnur Aliyev, Azerbaijan’s First Deputy Minister of Economy, as he addressed the conference on “The United States-Azerbaijan Trade & Business Agenda: Connecting Markets–Building Future”, marking the 30th anniversary of the US-Azerbaijan Chamber of Commerce held in Washington.
According to him, despite the current level of economic engagement between Azerbaijan and the U.S., it still doesn't fully reflect the potential between the two nations.
“Last year, bilateral trade between Azerbaijan and the U.S. reached approximately $1.6 billion, and over 200 U.S. companies are currently successfully operating in Azerbaijan. U.S. foreign direct investment in Azerbaijan has reached nearly $19 billion since 1995, demonstrating the American companies’ long-term role in the country’s economy,” he added.
