PACE SPRING SESSION STARTS IN STRASBOURG
A delegation of the Azerbaijani parliamentarians led by chairman of the International Relations and Inter-Parliamentary Links Standing Committee, head of the Azerbaijan delegation at Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe Samad Seyidov arrived in Strasbourg to take part at the spring session of PACE.
The delegation comprises MPs Rafael Huseynov, Gultekin Hajiyeva, Ganira Pashayeva, Ali Huseynov, Sabir Hajiyev, as well as secretary of the delegation Ilgar Majidli.
Spring session started on the same day. Rene van der Linden, President of the Council of Europe Parliamentary Assembly (PACE) addressed the session with opening remarks. He informed on the session’s agenda.
As is stated, the agenda includes the state of human rights and democracy in Europe, Montenegro’s accession to the Council of Europe, statement of the President of Ministerial Committee, San Marino Foreign Minister Fiorenzo Stolfi, Azerbaijan’s honoring of obligations and commitments, human rights and democracy in Europe, election of nominees to the European Human Rights Court and other questions.
