Pakistani police thwart militant attack on Fateh Khel police post in Bannu

An attempt by militants linked to Fitna-al-Khawarij to carry out a cowardly attack on the Fateh Khel police post was successfully foiled on Wednesday due to the timely and effective response of the police. The attackers were forced to retreat and fled the area, the Associated Press of Pakistan (APP) reported.
According to police, miscreants associated with Fitna-al-Khawarij launched a heavy-weapons attack on the Fateh Khel police post, located within the jurisdiction of Mandan Police Station.
An exchange of fire between the two sides continued for approximately one hour.
During the strong retaliatory action by the police, the positions used by the attackers were effectively targeted, including the rooftop of a nearby market and the building of a private school.
Upon receiving information about the incident, DPO Bannu Yasir Afridi, along with the SP Rural, SP Headquarters, SDPO Rural-II, SDPO City, SHO Mandan, and additional contingents from the police lines, including APCs, immediately reached the police post.
As a result of the timely, coordinated, and professional operation, the terrorists took advantage of the cover of darkness and managed to escape.
All personnel deployed at the Fateh Khel police post remained completely safe.
Security in the area has been further tightened, and a search operation is ongoing to eliminate any potential threats and ensure complete safety.
