Panova and Watson are champions in doubles in Baku Cup-2014
Baku, July 27 (AZERTAC). The champions have been identified in doubles in Baku Cup 2014 tennis tournament.
In the final match of the tournament the duo of Aleksandra Panova of Russia and Heather Watson of Great Britain faced the team of Shahar Peer (ISR) and Raluka Olaru (ROU).
In the first set of the Panova and Watson easily won their opponents 6-2.
In the second set, Olaru and Peer showed a serious resistance. Close to the end of the set, they even were leading 5-4. However, Panova and Watson overtook the initiative again and prolonged the set till the tie-break.
In the tie-break, Panova and Watson dominated and finished the set 7-6 and the match 2-0.
Thanks to this victory they gained 280 rating points and $12 300 as a prize. Peer and Olaru who lost the final, received 180 rating points and $6400.
