Preparation for ADB Governors’ Annual 48th Meeting discussed
Baku, June 13 (AZERTAC). The Organizing Committee of ADB Governors’ Annual 48th Meeting set up on the Order of Azerbaijani President on May 22, 2013 to ensure the holding of meeting to be held in Baku on May 2-5, 2015, held a meeting at the Cabinet of Ministers.
First Deputy PM, chairman of the Organizing Committee Yagub Eyyubov headed the meeting, the Cabinet’s press service said.
ADB governor from Azerbaijan and Finance Minister Samir Sharifov informed the Organizing Committee members on the ADB, the ties between Bank and Azerbaijan Republic, the annual meeting of ADB Governors, the participants of these meetings and main requirements to the organizing questions of holding annual meetings.
Representatives of relevant structures have discussed and made certain decisions to ensure holding of the ADB Governors’ 48th annual meeting at high level. The decision on holding of the 48th Annual Meeting of the Board of Governors of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) in Baku on May 2-5, 2015, has been adopted at the 45th annual meeting of its Board of Governors.
On February 19, 2013, the Asian Development Bank and Azerbaijani government signed a Memorandum of Understanding on holding of the 48th Annual Meeting of ADB Board of Governors in Baku.
The Asian Development Bank, ADB, was founded in 1966 and has 67 members. Azerbaijan received the membership of ADB in 1999.
