PRESIDENT AND FIRST LADY VISIT SETTLEMENTS IN AZIZBAYOV DISTRICT
The first couple started their visit with attending the ceremony of laying foundation stone for a secondary school in Buzovna settlement.
The President and first lady were informed that the 1,296-seat school will occupy the area of 25,000 square meters, and will have a boiler-house, pump stations, sports complexes, transformer stations and water reservoirs.
The Head of State placed a time-capsule into the foundation and filled it with liquid concrete marking the formal start of the construction.
Afterwards, the President had a warm conversation with local residents, and congratulated them on sacred Gurban bayram (The Feast of Sacrifice), New Year and World Azerbaijanians Solidarity Day.
The President also officially opened a new secondary school in Turkan settlement.
After the Head of State cut a ribbon symbolizing an opening of the school, he and his spouse toured the classrooms, computer rooms, and library.
President Ilham Aliyev congratulated the school’s teaching staff and local residents on opening of the school as well as on holidays.
In Shuvalan settlement, President Ilham Aliyev and first lady Mrs. Mehriban Aliyeva attended the opening ceremony of a combined hospital, which was completely overhauled on the initiative of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation.
The 25-bed hospital is equipped with American-made X-ray and ultrasonic equipment, and has new boiler-house, laundry, kitchen and policlinic.
The hospital, which employs 63 people, will serve local dwellers of Shuvalan and 1,535 internally displaced persons residing here.
President Ilham Aliyev toured the hospital’s divisions and wards.
In Mardakan settlement, the President and his wife visited the Hassan Pir (pilgrimage site or mosque), where they were warmly welcomed by local residents and religious figures.
The first couple were familiarized with the mosque, its ablution and sacrifice sites.
President Ilham Aliyev signed the mosque’s guest book.
