PRESIDENT ILHAM ALIYEV ARRIVES IN THE CITY OF LILLE
On 31 January, an express train took President of Azerbaijan from Paris to the city of Lille, capital of the northern Nord-Pas-de-Calais region of France. President of the regional council of Nord-Pas-de-Calais Daniel Porcheron welcomed President Ilham Aliyev at the railway station.
Head of the Azerbaijan State came to the Trade Chamber of region. Chairman of the Trade Chamber Patrick Van den Chrik informed on the history and activity of the Chamber.
Then, President of Azerbaijan met with the businessmen, who, during the meeting were presented to the Head of the Azerbaijan State.
The city of Lille is one of the industrial centers of France. The region’s businessmen have wide business links with the Great Britain, the Netherlands, Germany and other European countries, the President was informed. As stated, the French businessmen are keen in cooperation with Azerbaijan.
President Aliyev gave a speech at the meeting. Noting the importance of his visit to France, the President highly appreciated close participation of France in numerous projects in Azerbaijan.
President of Azerbaijan gave detailed information on the economic accomplishments the country gained last years, the reliable investment environment in Azerbaijan, expressing confidence for further cooperation with the French entrepreneurs.
Speaking on quick economic development in the Republic, the President said Azerbaijan is becoming an important partnership for Europe in all fields, in particular, in the energy sphere. He invited the French businessmen to the country.
At the business meeting, then speaking were the representatives of the French “Eurosasd”, “Euroteks”, “Pekmipol Lille Metropol”, “Transport Perrektr”, “Promossion” companies.
