PRESIDENT ILHAM ALIYEV ATTENDS OPENING OF GANJA-DASHKESAN-KHOSHBULAG HIGHWAY
MP Javid Gurbanov, who heads the Transport Ministry’s department “Yolnagliyyatservis” informed the President as follows: the road is 47 km in length and 12 m in width; 76 thousand tons of asphalt concrete were used for its paving; ten bridges have been reconstructed, and over 320 warning signs and 800 signal columns have been installed along the road; the total cost of the project is AZN 21,3 million, but AZN 10,2 million have been spent so far; a 3,5 km long street have been repaired by use of 7200 tons of asphalt for its paving. The project provided jobs to nearly 300 local residents.
President Ilham Aliyev cut the ribbon symbolizing the opening of the highway.
He thanked the constructors for the good job. “Thank you, you have laid a great road, it is quite difficult to do that through a mountainous area,” he said.
On the same day, President Ilham Aliyev unveiled a monument to the national leader of Azerbaijan Heydar Aliyev erected in Dashkesan. The President and the fist lady laid flowers at the monument. They also walked in the Heydar Park laid out here.
Later, the President inaugurated Heydar Aliyev Museum in Dashkesan. He was informed here that the Museum stores photo materials reflecting the great leader’s childhood and youth years, and his political activities including the periods of his work in security bodies, as head of the Soviet republic, as the President of the independent Azerbaijan, his foreign visits, those to regions of the country, as well as his activities related to army building and oil strategy.
President Ilham Aliyev viewed various sections of the Museum and signed the Book for Honorary Guests.
In Dashkesan, the Azerbaijani leader also visited a secondary school named after shehid Anar Mursalov. He was informed that the 3-storey building of the 500-seat school had been repaired under the auspices of the Ministry of Education. The Head of State toured classrooms and computer room. He stressed the importance of equipping schools with modern technologies.
