PRESIDENT ILHAM ALIYEV CONFERS “ISTIGLAL” ORDER UPON ARIF BABAYEV
President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has today presented the “Istiglal” (Independence) Order to people`s artist Arif Babayev for his contribution to development of mugham in Azerbaijan.
“I have always said that our culture, language, music protected us from assimilation. Therefore, we must pay a special attention to this area. During the competition, we saw how much the people of Azerbajan love mugham. You know very well that all our compatriots living abroad and Azerbaijan citizens watched it on TV. We are very glad that the new generation is being raised. This art is being continued, and its future will be very good,” said the Head of State.
