PRESIDENT ILHAM ALIYEV GETS FAMILIARIZED WITH “STAR” HOUSEHOLD APPLIANCE FACTORY

President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev familiarized himself March 1 with the “Star” household appliance factory in Shamakhy.
President of “Star” Group of Companies Ali Evsen informed the Head of State of the fact that the production line was installed here to produce air conditioners, refrigerators and laundry washers.
The equipment used here was delivered from the USA, Japan and Taiwan and Italy. The line is scheduled to produce 300 thousand air conditioners yearly, 200 thousand refrigerators and 150 thousand laundry washers. The enterprise will employ 1500 people of whom foreign specialists will constitute 3 percent. All workers took special course abroad. Presently, the average salary is 150-160 manats. After the Malaysian specialists come here in May, the enterprise will start working at full capacity.
President Ilham Aliyev toured the facilities here.
Later, Mr. Ilham Aliyev got acquainted with the exhibition of spare parts produced by the Shamakhy Automobile Plant. The plant has to date produced 1000 AzSamand cars, and is going to manufacture Peageout-206 and Peageout-405 cars.
The Head of State said this kind of plant is very important for the country’s economy.
Head of Shamakhy Executive Power Nazim Ismayilov informed the President of the work done in the region. He pointed out that Heydar Aliyev Foundation financed the construction of a number of schools here. According to him, new roads are being constructed here, and there are no problems with the energy supply. He noted that a new tourism development project is being developed with the French companies. N. Ismayilov said the allocated funds help settle many problems here.
President Ilham Aliyev said the measures would be taken in the future to develop and rebuild the region. Azerbaijani Leader gave relevant recommendations and instructions to ensure the upturn in the health, education and tourism sectors as well as in the agriculture.
