PRESIDENT ILHAM ALIYEV INAUGURATES “GOK-NUR BAKU” CABLE AND ELECTRIC APPLIANCES PLANT
President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and his spouse Mehriban Aliyeva attended Friday the inauguration of the “Gok-Nur Baku” cable and electric appliances manufacturing plant in the Zira settlement in Baku.
Construction of the plant belonging to the Azerbaijan-Turkey joint enterprise started in April last year. The plant is one of the manufacturers of cable and electric equipment in the South Caucasus, Central Asia and Balkans.
President Ilham Aliyev pressed the button starting the plant.
The Head of State toured the facilities here and watched the production process.
Cables and other electric equipment have so far been imported from Iran, Russia and Turkey. The plant will not only meet the domestic demand but also export its products.
The equipment installed here at the plant has been delivered from Germany, Turkey and Finland. It currently employs 350 workers but their number is planned to be increased to 500 in the future.

The Head of State gave relevant recommendations to use the plant more effectively.
