President Ilham Aliyev said he was informed on the meeting of intergovernmental commission held at the Cabinet of Ministers of Azerbaijan to discuss bilateral relations. He noted Azerbaijan hopes for enhancement of economic cooperation with Moldova.
The President described the reciprocal visits paid by the leaders of Azerbaijan and Moldova as an indication of successfully developing political relations between the two countries.
“We are actively collaborating both within international organizations and at a bilateral level,” President Aliyev said.
Speaking of the prospects of the Azerbaijan-Moldova economic cooperation, he expressed confidence that the Prime Minister’s visit will give a new momentum to development of trade and economic relations between the two countries.
“There is potential and a desire to enhance our economic ties. We are allied countries, partners. That’s why we hope for an active cooperation,” the President emphasized.
Prime Minister Vasile Tarlev noted it was the first official visit of Moldavian Prime Minister to Azerbaijan. He advised that the meeting of the Azerbaijan-Moldova intergovernmental commission had resulted in signing of six agreements on cooperation in various fields.
“No political problems exist between Moldova and Azerbaijan,” he said adding that very good relations have been established between governments, ministries and other bodies of the two countries.a
