PRESIDENT ILHAM ALIYEV RECEIVES RENOWNED KYRGYZ WRITER CHINGIZ AYTMATOV
President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev received Monday famous Kyrgyz writer Chingiz Aytmatov at the Presidential Palace.
The Head of State said he is pleased to see Aytmatov in Baku once again.
“I am glad to be here once again to express my respect to you. I knew your father very well, and I had a conversation with him in Moscow,” said Aytmatov.
“I would like to confer the Azerbaijan`s high-level “Dostlug” (Friendship) order upon you. You have always been a friend of Azerbaijan. It was so during the Soviet times as well - I know it from my father`s talks. I am aware of your relationships with him, - during the period of independence too. You have always supported us. During hardships, you have always had your say as a supporter of justice, peace, cooperation,” said President Aliyev.
The Head of State stressed Aytmatov is the first to receive “Dostlug” order.
