President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev received Monday the Slovenian Foreign Minister Dimitrij Rupel-led
Ministerial EU Troika also including European Commissioner for External Relations and European Neighborhood Policy, Benita Ferrero-Waldner.
The Head of State stressed EU Troika`s visit to the region would open up new opportunities for development of cooperation. He said Azerbaijan-EU relationship is successfully developing in a variety of fields. Azerbaijani leader said he is hopeful that this visit would help consolidate the progress achieved and discuss prospects for future cooperation.
Rupel expressed his intention to meet Azerbaijani friends and counterparts during the Baku trip. According to him, the delegation also includes EU Special Representative for the Southern Caucasus, Ambassador Peter Semneby and other officials.
The meeting focused on prospects for Azerbaijan-EU cooperation in various fields and Azerbaijan-Armenia conflict over Nagorno-Karabakh.
