Rovnag Abdullayev, President of Azerbaijan State Oil Company ( SOCAR) met with US Ambassador to Azerbaijan Mrs. Anne Derse, the SOCAR said.

Azerbaijan-America strategic partnership has been even strengthened after the Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev’s recent visit to the United States, SOCAR’s head said. He note Azerbaijan has already benefited from “The Contract of Century”. Telling about what SOCAR has achieved for the past 8 months, Mr. Abdullayev said it will continue cooperation with American companies.

Ambassador Derse touched on the prospects of the Azerbaijan-US and SOCAR - American companies relations. She called putting the Heydar Aliyev Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan main oil export pipeline into operation a fabulous achievement, stressed SOCAR’s role in the economy of Azerbaijan, and promised to further strengthening its cooperation with American companies.

The SOCAR Head and US Ambassador also exchanged views on a number of other issues of mutual interest.
