PRESIDENTS OF AZERBAIJAN AND HUNGARY MEET IN PRESENCE OF DELEGATIONS
President Ilham Aliyev of Azerbaijan and President Laszlo Solyom of Hungary today met at the Sandor Palace in presence of delegations.
Opening the meeting, the Hungarian President said they consider Azerbaijan in the Caucasus as strategic partner and the relations between the two countries develop dynamically, and the bilateral relations in the frame of European Union serve expansion of cooperation. There are good opportunities for development of economic ties, especially in the field of energy, Mr. Laszlo Solyom stressed. At the same time, Hungary is keen in development of relations in the field of education and science, he concluded.
Noting development of bilateral relations between the two countries in numerous fields, President Ilham Aliyev said the sides step forward. The new documents to be signed during current visit will create legal ground for that, President Aliyev underlined. At his words, Azerbaijan’s cooperation with Hungary in integration to the Euro-Atlantic structures will promote further expansion of the country’s integration to Europe. Underlining that economic ties have good prospects, the President of Azerbaijan emphasized importance of the business forum to be held on 19 February. The President highly estimated discussions in the energy sphere.
Touching upon the Armenia-Azerbaijan, Nagorno Karabakh conflict, Head of the Azerbaijan State reminded that 20 percent of Azerbaijan’s territories were occupied and over one million of people were ousted from their homelands and currently live in hard plight.
Hungarian President said his country supports territorial integrity of Azerbaijan, emphasizing that the conflicts should be solved peacefully.
