PRESIDENTS OF AZERBAIJAN, KAZAKHSTAN, RUSSIA AND TURKMENISTAN MEET IN AKTAU
Baku, 11 September (AZERTAC). Presidents Ilham Aliyev of Azerbaijan, Nursultan Nazarbayev of Kazakhstan, Dmitry Medvedev of Russia and Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow of Turkmenistan have met Friday in Aktau, Kazakhstan.
Opening the meeting President Nursultan Nazarbayev said “this is an informal meeting. We can discuss bilateral, multilateral issues and have a good time at the Caspian Sea”.
President Ilham Aliyev thanked Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev for the invitation to visit Kazakhstan.
“We frequently meet at various events including formal and informal CIS summits. Therefore, our contacts is the natural process and today`s meeting at your initiative provides a forum for sharing views in the informal atmosphere without the agenda on the issues of mutual interests, in either the multilateral or bilateral format. Our countries enjoy very good relations. We are preparing to host the summit of Caspian nations in Baku as it was agreed during the last summit in Teheran. The active work is in progress, experts are working, and, of course, it would be better if we go to the Baku summit with concrete decisions so that the summit could be a big step forward just as the Teheran one was. The decisions of the Teheran summit are very important and realization of these decisions, I am sure, will help successfully solve the problem of the Caspian Sea delimitation on the basis of friendship and good neighborhood,” said the Azerbaijani Leader.
During the meeting, Presidents Dmitry Medvedev, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow made their remarks, as well.
