Relations between Azerbaijan and Spain showing steady growth – Expert

Relations between Azerbaijan and Spain are stable and constructive, gradually expanding in a number of areas, Spanish expert and President of the Pan-European Union Carlos Uriarte Sánchez said in the latest episode of the "Azerbaijan and the World" program broadcast on the AZERTAC website.
According to him, the recent visit of the Speaker of the Spanish Parliament to Baku was an important signal of strengthening political dialogue between the two countries. The expert noted that although historically, bilateral ties have not been among the most intense in Europe, in recent years there has been a noticeable desire on the part of both Baku and Madrid to deepen cooperation.
He emphasized that special attention is being paid to developing partnerships in areas such as tourism, digitalization, agriculture, and renewable energy. According to the expert, Spain views Azerbaijan as an important partner in the South Caucasus, while Baku views Madrid as a significant European Union member state with strong economic and technological potential.
