RUSSIA SATISFIED WITH MILITARY-TECHNICAL COOPERATION WITH AZERBAIJAN
Russia is satisfied with the level of military-technical cooperation with Azerbaijan, Mikhail Medvedev, director of RF Federal Service on Military-Technical Cooperation, told a news conference.
Asked whether he positively estimates mutual relations with Azerbaijan in this sphere, M. Medvedev noted that between Azerbaijan and Russia, very good relations have been established. “We have a governmental commission on military-technical cooperation which regularly holds meetings, adopts decisions, and these decisions are certainly implemented. In a word, we are very satisfied with the cooperation with Azerbaijan“, the chief of RF Service underlined.
Speaking on cooperation of Russia with the CIS countries, not entered into the Treaty of Collective Security, M. Medvedev stated that interaction in the framework of CIS intensively develops. At his words, it goes twice intensively than in previous year.
Mr. Medvedev stated some figures concerning Russia’s military-technical cooperation with the foreign countries in 2006: thus, volume of export has reached high level and made up 6,5 billion dollars. Mr. Medvedev noted that the expert deliveries were sent to 64 world countries. A greater part of weapons was exported to the states of Central, Eastern and Southern Asia. Among the major partners of Russia in this region are India, China, Vietnam, South Korea and other counties, he stressed.
