RUSSIAN FOREIGN MINISTER ON HIS COMING VISIT TO AZERBAIJAN
Humanitarian cooperation between Azerbaijan and Russia will be among issues to be discussed during Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov’s visit to Baku, which is expected next month, AzerTAj Moscow-based correspondent reports.
“Fates of our countries and people are deeply intertwined in the spheres of education, science and arts,” Lavrov said while speaking to a ceremony held at the Azerbaijan Embassy in Moscow to mark the 15 anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries. “It is aspiration of hearts and spirits, that is mutual, and all this can serve as a reliable basis for our political cooperation, our interaction within CIS, where ongoing processes are not easy and not unambiguous,” he said.
The Russian Minister stressed the importance to make it as easy as possible for ordinary people in both countries to communicate with each other.
“I am looking forward to meeting with President Ilham Aliyev and my kind friend Elmar Mammadyarov. Interaction of our ministries is many-sided, it is based on concrete plans and programs, and covers almost all aspects of international life, including international problems,” said Sergey Lavrov.
