SAM publishes new review on cyber-security
Baku, December 3 (AZERTAC). Center for Strategic Studies under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan have published a new SAM Review #11 called "Cyber-Security Objective: Azerbaijan in the Digitalized World".
This issue is authored by leading research fellow at SAM - Dr. Kamal Makili-Aliyev and a PhD scholar at Quaid-I-Azam University Islamabad, Pakistan - Attiq-ur-Rehman.
The research addresses wide variety of contemporary topics on cyber-security taking into account both legal and geostrategic aspects of the importance of this modern challenge.
In their study authors focus on the importance and theoretical basis of cyber security, discuss the notions of cyberspace and cyber-threats applying these terms to underline the importance of cyber-security for Azerbaijan.
They also discuss the position of Azerbaijan faced with cyber-threats, by describing what these threats are, what can be expected of them in the future and how Azerbaijan have responded to such threats so far.
Research also covers the role of Azerbaijan in promotion of cyber-security laws and international cooperation, stressing the importance of legal tools in this relatively new dimension of security.
Authors conclude by indicating the way of Azerbaijan from cyber-security as a future challenge to a comprehensive cyber-defense, providing policy recommendations and drawing overall concluding remarks.
