SOCAR ANNOUNCES TENDER FOR DESIGN OF OIL MUSEUM IN BAKU
In accordance with the presidential Order of 4 February 2008 “On Creation of Oil Museum in Baku”, the State Oil Company of the Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR) has announced an international tender for the design concept of the museum.
Entries should reflect a museum complex consisting of open and closed areas. Close area should include a building of the museum (exhibition galleries, multiplex cinemas, offices, children’s museum and intellectual club, café, souvenir shops, plenary hall, scientific-research center, library, SOCAR’s centralized archive, administrative building, guest house) and inner infrastructure (museum funds, repair shops etc.).
Open area should include a park complex consisting of 7 interconnected parks of cultural and educational character, each featuring separate period of oil history, and a parking place.
Participants should submit a model of the Oil Museum, color video, explanatory photographs and graphics created using the 3D Max software.
The winner-entry is an exclusive property of a contestant.
Preference will be given to the projects reflecting national architectural traditions and meeting modern standards and oil-related criteria.
