Baku, August 6 (AZERTAC). President of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) Rovnag Abdullayev has met Iranian Minister of Communications and Information Technology Mahmoud Vaezi.
Abdullayev said cooperation between Azerbaijan and Iran had been developing successfully. He also said an official visit of President Ilham Aliyev to Tehran gave a new push to further development of the bilateral ties.
The SOCAR President described activities of the Iranian companies in Azerbaijan`s non-oil sector as fruitful, saying the two countries had rich experience in this area. Abdullayev noted that this experience had created great opportunities for further development of economic cooperation between the two countries.
Mahmoud Vaezi hailed rapid socio-economic development of Azerbaijan.
The Minister thanked the SOCAR management for creating favorable opportunities for activities of Iranian NICO Company in Shahdeniz and Southern Caucasus Gas pipeline project.
The Iranian Minister expressed confidence that the cooperation in oil and gas industry would give great contributions to economic development of both countries.
They said there were big prospects for deepening relations between the two countries in energy sector.
