Spain claims fourth Euro Beach Soccer Cup
The team led by Joaquín Alonso opened the scoreboard in the first minutes, and completed the match with great solvency. Spain has conquered a title that already won in 2009.
Spain wanted to start soon with the action in the Euro Beach Soccer Cup final, and its top gunner, Llorenc Gomez, put the team ahead on the scoreboard in the 2nd minute. Dejan Stankovic wanted to answer for his team, equalling the score, awaking the Spanish cravings. Five goals more before the first break drastically changed the party, and put the team led by Alonso in a favorable position to take the title.
Llorenç scored his fifth goal of the afternoon. It was the 5-8. When there were only five minutes to go for the end of the match, Spain started to see the things more calmly, although Switzerland continued fighting till the end. Stankovic was able to add a one more goal to the Swiss account, but the distance was too big, and there was too little time remaining. With the final whistle, Spain won its fourth Euro Beach Soccer Cup. In addition, Captain Juanma Martin was named the most valuable player of the competition.
Russia finished third after beating Greece 7-4.
