Spain hosts conference on foreign policy priorities of Azerbaijan
Baku, November 27 (AZERTAC). The conference titled “Azerbaijan in evolving regional context: Growth Challenges and Foreign Policy Priorities” has been held at the headquarters of the leading Spanish think tank Incipe with the support of the “Tecnicas Reunidas” Company.
Addressing the event, Secretary General of the Incipe and Tecnicas Reunidas Jose-Pedro Sebastian de Erice spoke of Azerbaijan`s increasing role in international scene.
Azerbaijan`s Ambassador to Spain Altay Efendiyev provided insight into the Azerbaijan`s history, culture, geopolitical and geostrategic development, and successful projects carried out in the country.
The Ambassador also spoke of the historical realities and results of the Armenia-Azerbaijan Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, as well as the October 9 presidential elections in the country.
Altay Efendiyev also spoke of the evolution of the geopolitical trends in the last 20 years, underlining Azerbaijan now is a leading country in the region.
President of the Atletico Madrid FC, Director of the Incipe, and General of the Spanish Defence Ministry delivered speeches on the key role of Azerbaijan in international arena at the conference.
The conference brought together representatives of Spanish government and public bodies, leading companies, as well as representatives of the diplomatic corps accredited in Madrid.
The special issues of the “Diplomacia-Siglo XXI” magazine dedicated to the 90th anniversary of national leader Heydar Aliyev, as well as booklets on the country`s achievements gained during the last 10 years were presented to the event participants.
Founded in 1979, the “Incipe” think thank is focused on the studies on the Spain`s foreign policy.
