Speaker of Azerbaijani Parliament meets with her Kazakh counterpart

Speaker of Azerbaijan's Milli Majlis, Sahiba Gafarova met with Chairperson of the Senate of Kazakhstan Ashimbayev Maulen Sagathanuly on Friday during her working visit to Tajikistan to attend the international conference on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of adoption of the Constitution of this country.
During the meeting, the sides lauded the development of relations between the two countries and parliaments.
Ashimbayev congratulated Gafarova on the successful organization of Azerbaijan's parliamentary elections and her reappointment as Speaker.
According to Ashimbayev Maulen, Azerbaijan is a very important and reliable partner for Kazakhstan.
Mentioning that Kazakhstan attaches great importance to the development of the relations with Azerbaijan, the Kazakh Speaker noted the importance of cooperation between both countries’ legislative bodies.
Speaker Sahiba Gafarova expressed her gratitude for the congratulations. She recalled their previous meetings, adding that those meetings and negotiations contributed to deepening relations between the legislative bodies of the two countries.
According to her, the peoples of the two countries share common ethnic roots.
The sides hailed the activities of the inter-parliamentary friendship groups of the both countries, adding the special contribution of regular contacts, mutual visits and meetings at the level of heads of parliament in recent years to the development of relations.
