TURKEY FURTHER TO UPHOLD AZERBAIJAN’S STAND IN ARMENIA-AZERBAIJAN CONFLICT
Turkey will further uphold Azerbaijan’s fair stand in the Armenia-Azerbaijan conflict, the Ambassador of Turkey to Russia Tashkent Kurtulush told AZERTAC correspondent.
The Ambassador, in particular, noted that Turkey, as a friendly and fraternal state, regularly at the diplomatic levels supports the position of Azerbaijan and its interests. “Armenia has occupied 20mpercent of Azerbaijan’s territories. This is great injustice, as in the modern civilized world it has analogue that a state keeps under occupancy the territory of other state. Turkey is for territorial integrity of Azerbaijan and return of the occupied lands to the jurisdiction of Azerbaijan. We believe in settlement of this conflict in the framework of territorial and political integrity of Azerbaijan, on the basis of fundamental principles of international law. And we are hopeful for peaceful and quick resolution to this conflict”, the Ambassador of Turkey to RF emphasized.
In reply to the question on the claims of Armenia against Turkey on the “genocide of Armenians”, the Ambassador noted that Armenia does not want to normalize the relations and cooperation with Turkey.
Commenting that fact that last times Armenia makes reverence to Turkey to adjust bilateral relations, Mr. Tashkent Kurtulush stated that there is no ground for that. “For normalization of relations between Turkey and Armenia, the latter first has to fulfill a number of terms and relinquish from unfriendly policy”, the diplomat said.
The Ambassador of Turkey to Russia said Turkey together with the brotherly Azerbaijani people mourns over the innocent victims of Khojaly.
