Turkish Ambassador visits AzerTAc
Baku, March 4 (AZERTAC). Turkish Ambassador Ismayil Alper Coskun has today visited the Azerbaijan State Telegraph Agency (AZERTAC) where he met its Director General Aslan Aslanov.
Aslanov spoke of the centuries-old fraternal ties between the two countries and nations, and underlined the role of national news agencies in taking these relations forward.
He briefed the Ambassador on the successes gained by the country during the years of independence, the agency`s position in ensuring the governmental information policy. He noted that AZERTAC and Anadolu agencies enjoy close ties and successfully cooperate within international media organizations. Aslanov underlined Anadolu`s supporting AZERTAC`s winning bids to host simultaneously both the 16th General Assembly of the Organization of Asia Pacific News Agencies (OANA) and 5th News Agencies World Congress in Baku in 2016. The Director General also highlighted the importance of cooperation between press agencies of Turkic-speaking countries.
The Ambassador said that Turkey and Azerbaijan have always been together. He noted that Azerbaijan has turned into the biggest investor in Turkey. According to him, such projects as the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan, Baku-Tbilisi-Kars, TANAP and others are the evidence of brotherly relations between the two countries.
Alper Coskun highlighted the necessity of increasing the world community`s awareness of the truths on Azerbaijan and Turkey.
