Turkish Analist magazine writes about presidential election in Azerbaijan

Istanbul, November 7 (AZERTAC). Analist magazine of Turkish International Strategic Research Organization (USAK) has published an article on the results of the presidential election held in Azerbaijan.

Author of the article, USAK`s expert Turgut Damirtapa, says reelection of Ilham Aliyev as a president was forthcoming in Azerbaijan as the country has reached dynamic progress last years and people`s well-being has been improved thanks to wise policy and Azerbaijan-related international energy projects.

The author notes that Ilham Aliyev did not have serious opponent in the elections. “It is because the opposition does not have a strong electorate. Now, the word ‘opposition’ is associated with chaos and instability the people experienced in the first years of independence.”

The article notes that effective use of oil revenues and development of non-oil sector are a strategic plan. “The share of non-oil sector in GDP has considerably grown in last years.”

The author also highlights Azerbaijan`s foreign policy, current state of talks to solve the Armenia-Azerbaijan Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, and the country`s geopolitical significance.
