UEFA President becomes familiar with course of Olympic stadium`s construction in Baku
Baku, September 21 (AZERTAC). UEFA President Michel Platini has today familiarized himself with the course of construction of the Olympic stadium in Baku which is planned to be opened in 2015.
The UEFA President was informed about the construction process. He was told the groundbreaking ceremony was held on June 6, 2011, which brought together Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, FIFA President Joseph Blatter, as well as football officials and veterans.
The stadium with total area of 120,830 square meters will have 69,000 seats.
Platini watched a video on the construction and future view of the stadium.
