UNICEF URGES TO FIGHT TRAFFICKING IN PERSONS

On the eve of the elections to the European Parliament, United Nations Children’s Fund urged member states of the European Union to fight against trafficking in persons, children and women, in particular, AzerTAj correspondent reports.

The UNICEF’s statement issued in Cologne, says some 120 thousand women and children have been illegally delivered from the Eastern and Southern Europe to the EU countries to be mainly involved in prostitution.
