Baku, September 25 (AZERTAC). The United States scored five second-half goals and defeated Gambia 6-0 in its second match of the 2012 FIFA U-17 Women`s World Cup on Tuesday at Dalga Arena. Summer Green scored three goals and Amber Munerlyn, Morgan Stanton and Toni Payne each added a tally as the USA sets up a crucial Group B finale against Korea DPR on Saturday, Sept. 29.

The top two teams in Group B advance to the quarterfinal stage of the tournament. The USA could advance with a draw against Korea DPR, combined by a France draw or loss to Gambia in its final group match.

A sluggish offensive first half was followed by an immediate goal from Munerlyn at the near left post just 35 seconds into the second half off of a Darian Jenkins assist to push the lead to 2-0.

Green was awarded her second goal of the match in the 61st minute as she struck the ball from the right side and it deflected off of Gambia captain defender Amy Jaju. Then Jenkins notched her second assist of the match as she set up Green`s third goal in the 71st minute.

Morgan Stanton contributed her first international goal in the 83rd minute and Toni Payne capped off the scoring in the 86th minute, capitalizing on a superb long-distance pass from Brittany Basinger.
