VISIT OF AZERBAIJAN PRESIDENT TO BE IMPORTANT FOR FRANCE
“Visit of Azerbaijan President Ilham Aliyev to France has a special significance for the French government,” the French Ambassador to Azerbaijan Bernar Amaudric du Chaffaut told the news conference held on January 25 in Baku. The ambassador underlined that President Aliyev’s visit in the next week is the first state visit of Azerbaijan President to France. “Considering its influence in the region, the French government wants to study closely the stance of Azerbaijan related to some regional and global issues, including Azerbaijan’s attitude to its neighbors and relations with the European Union and other questions”.
He added that within the framework of the visit, the President of Azerbaijan would meet the President, Prime Minister, leaders of the Senate and the National Assembly of France. The diplomat said that a joint declaration of presidents, as well as an agreement and memorandums on bilateral cooperation in different fields would be signed.
According to his words, these documents will cover spheres of culture, civil protection, tourism, science, problems of family, women and children. At the same time, agreements and protocols with leading French companies are planned, he said.
The diplomat also said that after the official meetings in Paris, Ilham Aliyev would go to the city of Lille, north of France, which is one of the cultural and economical centers of the country. President Aliyev will have meetings with the representatives of the business circles of the Northern France.
