World Azerbaijanis Solidarity Day marked in Jordan

Baku, January 1 (AZERTAC). Azerbaijan`s Embassy in Jordan has arranged an event to mark the World Azerbaijanis Solidarity Day.

The event was attended by Jordanian parliamentarians, members of Jordan-Azerbaijan Friendship Society, former chairman of the Senate of Jordan Taher Al-Masri, ambassadors, Heads of Mission of Member States of the European Union and International Organization for Migration, public and political figures, and representatives of the Azerbaijani diaspora.

Addressing the event, Azerbaijani Ambassador to Jordan Sabir Aghabayov highlighted the history of the World Azerbaijanis Solidarity Day, which had been established by national leader Heydar Aliyev.

The ambassador said the Day had played a critical role in uniting the world Azerbaijanis around a single idea.

Aghabayov noted the Azerbaijanis must increase their efforts towards increasing the world community`s awareness of the country`s truths.

The event featured demonstration of “Azerbaijan's independence is eternal” film.
