YAP Deputy Chairman: Azerbaijani people expressed their wills in democratic manner
Baku, October 10 (AZERTAC). The presidential elections in Azerbaijani have been conducted in a free, fair, democratic and transparent atmosphere. The Azerbaijani people democratically expressed their wills,” Ali Ahmadov, deputy chairman and executive secretary of New Azerbaijan Party (YAP), has told a news conference.
Ahmadov said people actively took part in the elections and freely voted for their candidates. “The absolute majority of eligible voters cast ballots in the polling stations. Another important aspect is that the elections have been held in line with the Election Code, and no frauds or irregularities have been recorded during the voting. Efforts of some political parties to impact on ballot were prevented.”
The Deputy Chairman said international organizations showed great interest in these elections. “About 1400 international observers monitored the voting process.”
Ahmadov pointed out that Azerbaijan had democratic election legislation, necessary measures had been taken to hold elections in accordance with democratic norms and international standards, and Azerbaijani voters actively participated in the process.
Ahmadov said Azerbaijanis voted for continuation of national leader Heydar Aliyev`s political course and Ilham Aliyev claimed a milestone and resolute victory. “This victory is based on huge projects, magnificent accomplishments and overall development of Azerbaijan. The current policy will be continued and this will bring more achievements to Azerbaijan.”
