ICESCO Director-General: Azerbaijan has played an important role in strengthening ties among Islamic countries

“We highly value the remarks made by His Excellency President Ilham Aliyev on the importance of strengthening Islamic solidarity through practical action and joint efforts. This vision strongly aligns with ICESCO’s mission to promote dialogue, cooperation, peace, and sustainable development,” Salim bin Mohammed AlMalik, ICESCO Director-General, told AZERTAC.
“Azerbaijan has played an important role in strengthening ties among Islamic countries, and at ICESCO, we greatly value the distinguished partnership between ICESCO and the Republic of Azerbaijan, as well as the continued support extended to ICESCO’s programmes and initiatives,” he noted.
“The establishment of the ICESCO Regional Office in Baku is one of the tangible outcomes of this partnership and serves as an important platform for expanding cooperation with Azerbaijan, Central Asia, and the wider region.
ICESCO looks forward to continuing its close cooperation with the Republic of Azerbaijan to strengthen solidarity, build bridges among peoples and cultures, and advance the shared goals of peace and development across the Islamic world,” the ICESCO Director-General emphasized.
