7th MEETING OF TKA GENERAL ASSEMBLY UNDERWAY IN BAKU
The 7th meeting of the General Assembly of the Association of news agencies of Turkic speaking countries (TKA) entitled “The role of cooperation of news agencies in the development of relations among Turkic-speaking states” is continuing in Baku.
Opening the meeting, AZERTAC`s Director General Aslan Aslanov informed the participants of the second day`s agenda.
Director General of Turkey’s Anadolu News Agency (AA) Hilmi Bengi read out the Turkish Minister of State Mehmet Aydin`s congratulatory letter to the meeting participants.
He spoke of Anadolu News Agency`s activities during its chairmanship of TKA, including the launch of the association`s website.
Afterwards, Hilmi Bengi handed over the TKA chairmanship to AZERTAC`s Director General Aslan Aslanov, and expressed assurance Azerbaijan`s state news agency will give important contributions to cooperation among the news agencies.
Aslan Aslanov presented the 7th meeting`s final draft document to the participants.
Other speakers at the event included Deputy Director General of Anadolu News Agency Tahsin Akti, director of Kazinform Agency (Kazakhstan) Dauren Diyarov, deputy director of Kabar (Kyrgyz National News Agency) Oleg Ryabov, chairman of the Northern Cyprus News Agency (TAK) Emir Ersoy, general director of Tatar-Inform — Information agency of Tatarstan Leonid Tolchinsky, Deputy Director General of the news-agency "Bashinform" (Bashkortostan) Alik Shakirov and head of the Crimean news agency Gayana Yuksel.
AZERTAC`s director general Aslan Aslanov made closing remarks at the meeting which will continue on Friday.
