Air Astana launches new frequencies en route Astana – Baku
Baku, May 24 (AZERTAC). Flights between the capitals of Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan will be operated on Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays on a comfortable aircraft, Embraer-190. The time of flights` departure and arrival will remain the same.
Recall that the first flight from Astana to Baku was operated on May 21, 2012. For this period, one has carried over 15,000passengers.
“Given the high demand for air travel on this destination and for the passengers` convenience, the Airline has decided to increase the frequency of flights between the two countries. We hope that this move will promote to further development of business, cultural and diplomatic ties between the capital cities of Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan,” noted Erbolat Baysalykov, Regional Manager of Air Astana in Azerbaijan.
One-way air tickets` cost from Baku to Astana in economy class is AZN 220+, including the airport tax and other taxes, and AZN 530+ in business class. The roundtrip air flight costs AZN 400+ in Economy Class and AZN 1,040+ in business class, including the airport tax and other taxes.
Air Astana is a full member of the International Air Transport Association (IATA) and is a joint venture of the Samruk-Kazyna National Welfare Fund JSC and the British company, BAE Systems PLC, with a share participation of 51% and 49% respectively. Air Astana is one of the airlines in Kazakhstan certified to perform aircraft maintenance on Part-145 standards of the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA). The Air Astana`s present air fleet consists of Boeing 767-300s, Boeing 757-200s, Airbus A321s, Airbus A320s, Airbus A319s and Embraer-190s. Air Astana provides operation of 43 international and 20 domestic flights. In 2012, Air Astana was the first airline in the CIS and Eastern Europe that was awarded with the Skytrax four-star rating, and it was recognized, as the “Best Airline in Central Asia and India”.
