Annual meeting of OSCE Ministerial Council wraps up in Dublin
Baku, December 7 (AZERTAC). The 19th OSCE Ministerial Council wrapped up on December 7 in Dublin. The event was held at the invitation of the 2012 OSCE Chairperson-in-Office, Ireland's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs and Trade Eamon Gilmore.
The Ministerial Council is the central decision-making and governing body of the OSCE. The meeting, held annually, provides the foreign ministers of the 56 OSCE participating States an opportunity to review and assess the Organization's activities during the past year and offer national viewpoints on security matters.
Ukraine officially took over the chairmanship of OSCE on December 7 at the OSCE ministerial council meeting in Dublin, when Ireland handed over. Ukraine will thus chair OSCE through 2013.
