Azerbaijan's Absheron district and Egypt’s Qalyubia Governate expand cooperation

Azerbaijani Ambassador to Egypt Elkhan Polukhov met with Hossam Abdel-Fattah, Governor of Egypt's Qalyubia Governate.
The meeting highlighted that Egypt attaches importance to the development of interregional cooperation with Azerbaijan.
Hossam Abdel-Fattah emphasized the importance of expanding cooperation across all areas, including in the fields of social and cultural collaboration.
He hailed the Azerbaijani Embassy’s support for the development of the library of the Egyptian Red Crescent Society located in the Afla Park of El Qanater El Khayreya city, noting that this project would further strengthen the friendship between the two peoples.
“The Azerbaijani language is taught at the ‘Friendship’ School located in Qalyubia Governorate, as well as at Benha University. The expansion of Azerbaijani language teaching and student exchange programs will contribute to advancing scientific and cultural relations. A monument to the National Leader of the Azerbaijani people, Heydar Aliyev, has also been erected in the central recreation park of the region," the Egyptian Governor added.
Touching upon the history of existing ties between Azerbaijan’s Absheron district and Egypt’s Qalyubia Governorate, Governor Hossam Abdel-Fattah underscored that reciprocal visits by the leaders of the two countries have entered a new stage of bilateral relations.
Ambassador Elkhan Polukhov provided insight into the World Urban Forum (WUF13) on the theme “Housing the world: Safe and resilient cities and communities” scheduled to take place in Baku, and invited the Governor to attend the event.
