AZERBAIJAN AND RUSSIA CARRY OUT CONSTANT CONSULTATIONS ON QUESTIONS OF CONSULAR SERVICE
As was informed from the press center of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, prior to the beginning of action, the chief of Consular Management Nadir Huseynov, having welcomed delegation, has presented the sides to each other in a meeting, and has expressed hope for even more intensive development of existing diplomatic relations between our countries.
Nadir Huseynov has stressed importance of the positive decision for both states of questions of consular service between our countries.
The head of delegation of the Russian Federation Valery Schetinin has expressed deep gratitude to the Azerbaijan side, has wished closer links between our countries.
At the meeting, discussed were issues of consular questions of our state, the questions concerning its borders, and also questions concerning the documents submitted by the Ministry of Justice of the Azerbaijan Republic.
Besides, the deputy chief of Consular Management Faig Bagirov and the head of department of consular-legal questions Mehriban Najafova have expressed to delegation of the Russian Federation their opinion on questions and have suggested entering in the protocol respective alterations.
In the protocol, also have found the reflection and the offers, which have been put forward by employees of the Ministry of Justice and the State Frontier Service of the Azerbaijan Republic.
On the offer of the Russian Federation side, discussed was the question on entering some changes in the Agreement signed on July 3, 1997 between the governments of the Azerbaijan Republic and the Russian Federation, and some other documents.
The Russian side has proposed that both parties have reduced the list working for transition of border of documents up to 5 (diplomatic, service, common passports, the passport of the seaman and the certificate on homecoming). The Azerbaijan party{side}, in turn, has made the protest against reduction of the list of working documents and has brought the offer to reduce this list of documents up to 7 (diplomatic, service, общегражданские passports, the sea passport and the certificate on homecoming, the IC of the citizen of the Azerbaijan Republic and the certificate on birth for children up to 16-years age with the translation authorized in the notary order).
The Azerbaijan side as alternative to the offer of the Russian side has recognized expedient to increase number of documents for the benefit of our citizens with 5 up to 7, and also has presented the Russian side for consideration the offer to keep the IC and the certificate on birth among working documents for transition of border. This offer has been put forward with a view of maintenance of unobstructed, ingress-egress of numerous citizens of Azerbaijan living in the Russian Federation.
