AZERBAIJAN-EGYPT RELATIONS EXPANDING
The popular folklore ensemble ' Amal' will perform for Bakuvites, as well as exhibition of the well-known Egypt artists and a week of Egypt films will be also held within the framework of the Days of Culture.
Cultural Center of the Egypt was founded in Baku, 1999. Since then, the center organizes lectures, seminars on history and culture of this ancient country, its well-known workers of literature and art, as well as arranges soirees.
Relations between the Arab Republic of Egypt and Azerbaijan entered a new stage of development after President Heydar Aliyev’s official visit to Cairo, in 1994. During the visit, Presidents, Heydar Aliyev of Azerbaijan and Hosni Mubarak of Egypt signed agreements of cooperation in numerous areas. In November 2005, Days of Azerbaijan Culture were for the first time held in Cairo and Alexandria. Currently, over 70 Azerbaijanis study at the Universities of Egypt, and 16 Egypt students study at Azerbaijani Universities, including Oil Academy, head of the center, Dr. Said Ganem told AzerTAj reporter.
