Azerbaijan, Gulf Cooperation Council discuss prospects for cooperation

Azerbaijan`s Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Shahin Abdullayev has met with Secretary General of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf (GCC) Jasem Mohamed Al-Budaiwi in Riyadh to discuss the further development of relations between Azerbaijan and the GCC as well as and the holding of second business forum.
During the meeting, the GCC Secretary General stressed the importance of developing relations between the Arab states of the Gulf and Azerbaijan, adding that the strengthening of cooperation serves the interests of both sides.
The parties hailed the development of cooperation in various fields which is successfully continued in line with the Memorandum of Understanding signed between the GCC and Azerbaijan in 2013. The sides stressed the necessity of developing cooperation in all fields, including energy, trade, investment, food security, culture, tourism, education and people-to-people contacts as well as holding the second Gulf-Azerbaijan Economic Forum.
The meeting also discussed other regional and international issues of mutual interest.
