AZERBAIJAN JOINED CONVENTION ON COMBAT AGAINST ENVIRONMENTAL POLLUTION

Regular sitting of Milli Majlis of Azerbaijan Republic was held on 18 June.

Discussed were 8 drafts connected to joining of Azerbaijan the Conventions related to combat against the cases of oil pollution and cooperation in the said field, civil responsibility for damage caused as a result of pollution, prevention from water pollution by vessels.

Informing on the Draft was chairperson of the standing commission of Milli Majlis on issues of natural resources, ecology and energy Asya Manafova, who noted that in the documents, has found its reflection prevention from water pollution and pollution of the environments with oil, wastes, as well as by vessels, bilateral and multilateral cooperation in prevention of pollution and abolishment of its sequences, civil responsibility for pollution and others questions.

Joining the documents, the country can prevent pollution of the Caspian, its environment, demand its rights in the appropriate instances and get assistance to prevent pollution, she said.

The parliamentarians gave their consent to join the said conventions.
