Azerbaijan, Latvia discuss bilateral cooperation

Azerbaijan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Jeyhun Bayramov has met with Latvian Foreign Minister Krišjānis Kariņš on the sidelines of the 78th Session of the UN General Assembly.
During the meeting, the sides discussed bilateral and multilateral cooperation issues between the two countries, as well as the current situation in the region.
Minister Jeyhun Bayramov informed about the current situation in the region and the results of the anti-terror measures implemented by Azerbaijan in the Karabakh region.
FM Bayramov pointed out that as a result of the anti-terror measures illegal Armenian armed groups, which threaten peace and security in the region, were disbanded.
The minister stressed that civilians were not targeted during the anti-terrorist measures, and all necessary measures were taken in advance to ensure their safety.
During the meeting, the sides exchanged views on other issues of mutual interest.
