AZERBAIJAN-NATO COOPERATION TURNS 10
Euro-Atlantic Organization of Azerbaijan Youth organized the Conference titled “10 years on the way of partnership for peace”, chairman of the Organization Ziya Gaziyev said. Representatives of the ministries of foreign affairs, youth, sports and tourism, of the embassies of NATO member-countries – Turkey, USA, Great Britain, FRG, France and Greece in Baku, journalists have attended the workshop.
Deputy foreign minister Araz Azimov, chief of international cooperation department of defense ministry of Azerbaijan Ramiz Najafov spoke of Azerbaijan-NATO co-op, integration of the Republic to Euro-Atlantic space, as well as military cooperation, activity of Azerbaijan platoon s in the conflict areas.
Ambassador of Turkey to Azerbaijan Ahmed Unal Chevigez, ambassador of Great Britain and the Kingdom of Northern Ireland to Azerbaijan Lawrence Bristow and others were speaking at the event. The participants were informed on the coming NATO Summit in Istanbul.
It was stated that in the said Summit the NATO member-states would reach 26. Now they are 19.
