AZERBAIJAN-NETHERLANDS RELATIONS HAVE GOOD PERSPECTIVES
The Minister expressed his satisfaction with the meeting, and pointed out the importance of deepening Azerbaijan-Netherlands relations.
Speaking of Azerbaijan’s integration into the European structures, the Minister stressed the necessity of involvement of Dutch investors in non-oil sector of Azerbaijan to increase efficiencty of economic reforms being implemented in the country.
The Ambassador thanked the Minister for the meeting and expressed hope for intensification of further meetings. He described reopening of air communications between the two countries as one of the basic principles of the bilateral relations. Ambassador H. Molenar shared the Minister’s views on the need to expand cooperation in non-oil sector.
Speaking of the European Union’s interests in the South Caucasus, he announced on coming presidency of Netherlands at the organization. In the light of consideration by the EU of the Nagorno-Karabakh problem, the Ambassador stressed the importance of strengthening relations between the two countries during his country’s presidency.
Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov expressed confidence in the great positive role, which the European Union could play in fair settlement of the conflicts existing in the South Caucasus in accordance with principles of the international law. He also expressed hope for the EU future aid to Azerbaijan whose damage as a result of the Armenian aggression had amounted to billions of US dollars. The Minister further provided the Ambassador with detailed information on the work carried out for settlement of the Armenian-Azerbaijan conflict over Nagorno-Karabakh.
During the meeting, the parties also discussed a number of other issues of mutual interest.
