AZERBAIJAN QUICKLY INTEGRATES INTERNATIONAL INSTITUTIONS
Expressing his gratitude for warm reception, Mehmet Ulkumen said he was pleased with his fist visit to Baku. He has been working at the current position for about thirty years and in the last years has established mutually beneficial links with the permanent representatives of Azerbaijan at the UN Geneva Section and other international organizations, he said. In 2000, at the Millennium Summit in New York President Heydar Aliyev invited me to visit Azerbaijan, he said, and expressed regret that the visit was not realized due to technical reasons.
Head of foreign policy department of Azerbaijan Elmar Mammadyarov expressed pleasure of seeing Mehmet Ulkumen in Azerbaijan and said that his experience would be useful for the staff of protocol department of Azerbaijan’s foreign ministry. Noting the necessity of mutual activity of Azerbaijan with the international organizations, Mr. Mammadyarov said that this would promote integration of the Country to the international structures.
Also was focused a number of questions of mutual interest.
